I googled for the best recipe of Chocolate Cake and I found the first result suggested Add A Pinch page. The recipe was pretty similar to the one I learnt back in school with my Kemahiran Hidup teacher, Puan Lim. It was indeed perfect!
I used pure black cocoa powder for this recipe as I didn't have enough cocoa powder to be used for both cakes and buttercream. It didn't change the taste anyway so no worries. Black Beauty! However, the buttercream was not up to my expectation. It was not awful but not entirely amazing too. I would prefer basic chocolate ganache than the suggested buttercream, me thinks.
BUT, the cake looked astounding when dressed in that cocoa coffee buttercream. Okay, so a plus point there.
